Feet

The feet are engineered from grade 304 stainless steel, not lightweight turned aluminium, giving a superior finish and feel.

There are two designs - "round" and "square".  Each can be ordered with a brushed satin, bright polished, or black finish as shown below.  Click on the photos to see a larger version - the first, featuring the round design, shows the difference between the polished and satin finishes.

On the base are four small rubber blobs about 2mm high and 12mm in diameter, called “bumper stops”.  These serve the same purpose as the rubber feet on the bottom of a laptop or hi-fi component – they protect the surface on which the glass fire guard stands (so no scratched floor or hearth) and also make it non-slip.

The feet are precision made in England, the stainless steel being cut by laser and finished using computer numeric controlled (CNC) machine tools, to give a superior product.
